It is not required to make an account but you can if you want to save your wall. Also if you do want to sign in you can either create an account or you can sign in with your Google account which was pretty cool. Also, with Google you do not need to use a password.
Description of Tool:
Wallwisher is an online bulletin board that anyone can post to. Basically, Wallwisher is an online sheet of paper that can have anything on it. It's easy to make a new wall for anything and has multiple purposes! Wallwisher can be used to plan events, have discussions, etc. Wallwisher is semi-private when a "wall" is first made but can be changed to private by modifying the page. To share a Wallwisher page you can publish it to a social networking site, email the link or embed into a site.
How does tool apply to your curricular area?
This tool would would be beneficial to an elementary education classroom for both students and parents. This tool allows guests to comment back to the host about different events. This would be good for teachers to use when they are having events in the classroom that parents can come to. The parent could respond whether they are coming or not. This would also work when teachers need to assign different items that students would need to bring for a class event without having to send letters home to children (of course this would only work in areas with complete internet access). Wallwisher is a good tool for teachers to use when notifying parents. For students, Wallwisher is a simple and easy to way make a "website" that they can put their own work on and the teacher can comment back. Teachers can use Wallwisher during class to have discussions with students and they can respond on the board. Students could post questions about homework on the board and the teacher can respond so that all students can see the question. The teacher could also post homework assignments on to Wallwisher and the students can attach their homework file to the board.
Where does tool fit in Digital Blooms and why?
It depends on how the student is using Wallwisher.
